Progressive fibrosis complicates many forms of interstitial lung disease and data are limited on its prevalence and prognosis. In a real-world cohort, a progressive phenotype (i) occurred in more than 25% of those with non-idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), (ii) was an independent predictor of survival and (iii) showed an overall survival no different than IPF. |

In a cohort of 1869 cases and 7463 matched controls, we found a significant individual and societal burden of systemic sclerosis that is evident several years before and after the diagnosis. Total excess costs were highest in cases with concomitant interstitial lung disease, which underlines the severity of pulmonary involvement. |

Factors such as visual assessment, rapid on-site evaluation of touch preparation and computed tomography scan findings demonstrated excellent predictive accuracy for malignant pleural effusion (MPE) during pleuroscopy with biopsy for exudative cytology-negative pleural effusions. Immediate MPE diagnosis could prevent the need for a second thoracoscopy for pleurodesis. |

Virtual bronchoscopic navigation with fused fluoroscopy and vessel mapping provides a point of entry (POE) for puncturing airway wall to biopsy lesions. In this study, biopsy yield of 75.4% and sampling yield of 93.9% were obtained independent of bronchus sign from 104 patients with 114 lesions via POE. |
