Cough commonly occurs during bronchoprovocation testing with mannitol. In this study, higher cough frequency in patients undergoing mannitol provocation was associated with laryngeal hypersensitivity, but not bronchial hyperresponsiveness. Greater cough frequency was found in older female patients. Mannitol provocation may be a useful test for laryngeal hypersensitivity. |

In a prospective cohort study of 148 individuals with hospitalized chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations, high right ventricular end-diastolic volume on dynamic computed tomography was associated with adverse acute markers and long-term mortality. |

Patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis experience diagnostic delays that can negatively influence their prognoses. This study uses real-world data from four countries to characterize the considerable diagnostic and treatment delays based on patients' experience. We describe the resultant socioeconomic burden, including effects on healthcare resource utilization, quality of life and work impairment. |

Specialist services for the diagnosis and care of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) are available across Australia and generally align with best practice guidance. Telehealth technologies were perceived as facilitators of best care, but inequities in access to services for patients with IPF in regional areas remained. |
