ACE2 is the primary receptor for SARS‐CoV‐2. We demonstrate that lower airway expression of ACE2 is increased in older adults and males. Lower ACE2 expression in epithelial cells also occurs in people with asthma and is associated with reduced furin and increased ADAM‐17 expression. This may partly explain the relative sparing of people with asthma from severe COVID‐19. |

The 6‐month infection risk was 43% lower in patients with sarcoidosis who initiated methotrexate compared to those who started azathioprine. Our findings suggest that unless contraindications exist, methotrexate should be preferred over azathioprine as the primary steroid‐sparing choice in individuals with sarcoidosis. |

The clinical course of systemic sclerosis‐associated interstitial lung disease (SSc‐ILD) is highly variable and easily measurable biomarkers are needed to predict disease progression. Serum epithelial biomarker KL‐6 is predictive of disease progression measured by a decline in DLCO, regardless of ILD severity, and could provide increased prognostic ability to inform risk stratification in SSc‐ILD. |

We assessed for the first time the safety and efficacy of bronchoscopically inserted cs‐FM for CyberKnife® SBRT delivery. We show that this technique is safe and resulted in a very high PPL tracking rate enabling optimal SBRT delivery. |

Diagnostic yields of CT‐guided and CBCT‐guided transbronchial biopsy for peripheral pulmonary nodules were compared by propensity score‐matched analysis. Overall diagnostic yields were 47.9% for CT‐guided biopsy and 72.9% for CBCT‐guided biopsy. CBCT‐guided biopsy improved the diagnostic yield. |

Pseudoephedrine and diphenhydramine, commonly used as over‐the‐counter combination for cold and flu, reduce the collapsibility of the upper airway in patients with OSA but do not reduce the number of obstructions. Their effect is not mediated by pharyngeal muscles stimulation, but most likely by a decongestant effect. |
