Scholarship

Update 27th October 2006:

The scholarships "APSR Young Investigator Travel Fellowship" and "The Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) Young Investigator Travel Fellowship" (Harasawa Fellowship) will be awarded to 48 outstanding professionals who are less than 40 years old during APSR2006. The awardees are requested to bring identification (Passport) as proof of age, plus a copy of the email notifying them of the award. The scholarships will be given after the awardee's presentation between 13:00-18:00 in Room 158.

A limited number of scholarships are available to participants who submit abstracts to the APSR2006. To apply for one of these scholarships, tick the appropriate box on the Abstracts Submission form.

The APSR2006 Scientific Programme Committee is responsible for the selection and announcement of the scholarship awardees, in consultation with the following sponsoring societies:

  • APSR Young Investigator Travel Fellowship

    The APSR is providing up to 40 APSR Young Investigator Travel Fellowships, awarded on the merits of submitted abstracts. These awards are to promote participation in the APSR2006 Congress. Applicants should be the first author and under the age of 40 when submitting their abstract. APSR membership is a prerequisite.

  • Scholarship from The Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS)

    Up to 30 scholarships to promote participation in the APSR2006 Congress are available for investigators who are not resident in Japan. Applicants should be the first author and under the age of 40 when submitting their abstract. APSR membership is a prerequisite.

  • Scholarship from The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ)

    This will be awarded to a scientist or clinician on the basis of scientific merit and presentation of their poster. The recipient will be less than 40 years of age and the first author of the poster. The scholarship will cover a return economy airfare, registration and accommodation at the 2007 TSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting. The poster will be presented in the appropriate session. Applicants must indicate they wish to be considered for the TSANZ scholarship on the Abstracts Submission form.
