This award will be available for the best lung cancer research abstract at each APSR Congress until 2027.
This APSR Award is to recognise researchers in the area of lung cancer, one The Big 5 Lung Diseases, and to encourage diversity in scientific excellence. Therefore women are particularly encouraged to compete for this award.
Kwun Fong MD PhD is a professor at The University of Queensland, Brisbane. Chunxue Bai MD PhD FCCP is a professor at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Director, Shanghai Respiratory Research Institute.
This award is generously provided by Dr Fong and Dr Bai for the advancement of Lung Cancer for an APSR Young Investigator from any country who is presenting original work at the APSR Congress. It serves to spur on the next generation of lung cancer researchers.
The winning abstract is selected by the APSR, supported by the APSR Lung Cancer Assembly, which ranks the abstracts for their novelty, importance, methodology, clarity and overall quality. A consensus on the best (eligible) lung cancer abstract is then obtained through a rigorous judging system.
