What do we do?

Mission:

The Respiratory Infections (non-tuberculosis) Assembly aims to promote state of art practice of Respiratory Infection (non-tuberculosis) in the Asia-Pacific region, through continuous professional development, research, and networking. It serves as a platform for members to raise and discuss important clinical questions, share updated medical knowledge, and help shape educational activities of the APSR.

Interests:

  • Epidemiology of community acquired pneumonia, hospital acquired pneumonia, and nontuberculous mycobacteriosis
  • Viral pneumonia, especially focusing on COVID-19 and influenza
  • Emerging respiratory infection
  • Molecular diagnosis of respiratory infection
  • Training in respiratory medicine and continuous education for respiratory physicians
  • Promoting and encouraging publication of clinical cases
  • Promoting research on respiratory tract infection
  • Promoting judicious use of antibiotics and avoiding antibiotic resistances

Who should join:

All APSR members who are interested in the field of Respiratory Infection (non-tuberculosis) and are keen to develop and share knowledge and ideas, build networks, collaborate in research projects and submit topics for the APSR annual Congress Assembly Symposium are welcome to join. The current leaders of the Assembly are Dr Chieh Liang Wu from Taiwan (Head of the Assembly), Dr Masaki Fujita from Japan (Head Elect) and Dr Kazi Saifuddin Bennoor from Bangladesh (Deputy Head).
