APSR 2022 Seoul

This congress was held on 17-20 November 2022 in Seoul's premier conference and exhibition centre (COEX), Korea, hosted by the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases (KATRD).

Unlike the previous Congress in Kyoto which was held in a hybrid format (on site and online) due to travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Seoul Congress was conducted entirely on site. Online recordings of post-congress sessions were also available to members untl 31 January 2023.

Congress websites remain online for a limited period after the event. Therefore for posterity, the following links were reproduced from the congress website at the close of the congress. The congress website at apsr2022.org remained accessible until the end of February 2023.

Given the size and complexity of such events, it is inevitable that there were last minute changes. Consequently there is no guarantee that all the sessions detailed actually took place in the form advertised.

Localised information that is unlikely to be of further interest, such as hotel booking, transportation arrangements to the venue, etc., has been omitted.

The congress logo follows the shape of traditional Korean clothing (hanbok). The various colours symbolise the variety of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, which come together for cooperation and advancement of respirology, enabling APSR members to go above and beyond current limitations and make great leaps forward. The theme of the congress is therefore "Above and Beyond".

Hanbok is the traditional Korean attire characterized by simple lines, light colours and elegant silhouettes. It is light and spacious, giving it a "one-size-fits-all" design. Although no longer worn daily in favor of Western-style clothing, hanbok is still often seen during special holidays such as Lunar New Year and Chuseok, at Seoul’s royal palaces, and in Korean historical TV dramas.
