APSR/ISRD Session at the ATS International Conference 2019 – post-session report from the Best Abstract Award winner

I am deeply indebted to APSR for this award. It was a great honour for me to participate in the APSR-ISRD session at ATS 2019.

The topic of my presentation was "Role of PD-1 pathway in pulmonary MAC infection using mice model", and I presented in oral and rapid poster discussion session at the conference. The incidence of pulmonary MAC infection is increasing worldwide, but the host factors predisposing to pulmonary MAC infection have not been fully elucidated.

In this presentation, we showed PD-1 pathway suppresses pulmonary inflammation induced by MAC infection and CD8 T cells may contribute to this phenomenon.

Through this presentation, I was able to discuss with the world's leading researchers in the area of mycobacterial infection, and it was a good stimulus for me to have the opportunity to obtain many kinds of comments and suggestions on my research and presentation.

Thank you again to APSR for giving me such a valuable opportunity.
