ATS Boot Camp 2021 – post-session report

I was deeply honoured to participate in American Thoracic Society Boot Camp in 2021 as per the selection by both APSR and Sri Lanka College of Pulmonologists. It was a great opportunity and a chance to meet the eminent characters in the field as well as the young physicians who were awaiting the fellowship in respiratory medicine. This was my first experience in attending an ATS forum and it was memorable. The organization and the contribution of them in the midst of a global pandemic is admirable.

All the sessions were of high quality with both teaching activities and interactive small group tasks. The topics covered were extensive from pulmonary physiology and lung function to the bronchoscopy and ECMO. The inputs from the relevant specialties were excellent and the small group activities were able to solidify the learning points in a friendly manner, resembling a live forum. We all are a part of the worldwide medical fraternity that continues to expand throughout. So it was a privilege to attend this.

I am incredibly humbled by this opportunity and would like to pay my heartiest gratitude to the APSR, the Sri Lanka College of Pulmonologists and my trainers Dr Saman Kularatne and Dr Dushantha Madegedara. Hoping for a COVID-free globe soon and looking forward to participating in the 25th APSR Congress virtually.
