These abstract presentation guidelines relate to the APSR Assembly Virtual Meetings (AVMs) which were held in November 2020. They are copied from the temporary website apsr.info which was used for the AVMs. They are reproduced here for posterity, and hopefully useful for APSR assemblies organising similar events in the future.
The following may differ from future abstract presentation guidelines for symposia and congresses.
The symposium will be an online webinar, via Zoom.
Presentation materials are controlled by presenting authors, NOT the APSR Secretariat. It is the presenting author's responsibility to review "Instruction-for-Zoom-Panelists" sent by the APSR Secretariat before the Assembly Symposium.
Presenting authors must join the Zoom webinar at least 30 minutes before the starting time of the symposium. It is presenting author's personal responsibility to check their presentation contents, presentation slides and computer including sound and microphone beforehand.
A presentation duration is seven minutes, plus five minutes for question and answer session. (Questions are pre-submitted from symposium's registrants or by the symposium facilitators). There is NO EXCUSE for exceeding your allotted time. It is a discourtesy to your audience, the Session Chairs and the other speakers, to take up more than your allotted time. Please make sure to adhere to the allotted presentation time.
Number of slides for presentation must be seven or fewer, including a cover slide.
The last slide must be a summary of the presentation.
Images and figures will be preferred over text.
Presenting authors must put the Disclosure Slide sent by the APSR Secretariat into the first slide.
All presenting authors of selected abstracts must register for the Assembly Symposia. A registration form for presenters will be sent from the APSR Secretariat after the notification that the abstract has been selected.
If a presenting author fails to register for the Assembly Symposia or does not reply to the acceptance email, the abstract is subject to rejection without prior notification.
Your presentation and presentation materials will be recorded and uploaded to the APSR members-only page on the APSR website later.
Presenting authors must submit the Assembly Virtual Meeting Consent Form sent by the APSR Secretariat before the Assembly Symposium.
All selected abstracts will be published in the abstract book (Respirology supplement).
Presentation slides may be submitted to the APSR Secretariat in advance via email. chieko.omote@theapsr.org
If the presenting author is unable to present their abstracts at the designated time due to an emergency, they will lose their opportunity to present.
A Certificate will be issued to presenting authors.
