Call for Papers

Accredited for CME, CNE and CPD points

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts on a wide variety topics in respiratory and related topics. Accepted abstracts will be published in a dedicated Supplement issue of Respirology, the official journal of APSR. It will be given out to the delegates at the Congress. The Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts and edit the language.

Submission

  • All presenters are required to register with the Congress for presenting the works.
  • Authors who wish to submit more than one abstract should fill out a separate submission online, however a maximum of three abstracts is allowed by the same Presenting Author.
  • Please refrain from submitting multiple copies of the same abstract.
  • Abstracts should be typed single-spaced in MS Word format in English using 12-point font of Regular Times New Roman in not more than 400 words.
  • Tables and graphs should not be included in the abstract.
  • A maximum of 2 references can be included in the body of the text.
  • The presenting author's full name must be exactly the same on the abstract submission form submitted.
  • The presenter of the paper must have his/her name mentioned first and Last name underlined.
  • Authors must indicate the name and address of the institution where the work was carried out.
  • The abstract submitted must be the original work and meet international ethical standards.
  • Previously published and presented abstracts can be submitted.
  • Authors must use standard abbreviations and place a special or unusual abbreviation in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
  • Non-proprietary (generic) names of drugs, written in lower case, are required at the first mention of a drug.
  • Trade names are not allowed in the abstract.
  • Case reports that include findings that are significant and have applied appropriate statistical and analytical methods will be considered for presentation.
  • All other case reports will not be accepted for oral or poster presentation.

Authors must arrange the text as follows:

  • Background and Aim of Study
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Awards and Prizes

  • APSR Travel Award:
    A limited of Travel Awards will be offered based on the scientific merit of submitted abstract, to partially support those investigators from developing areas to attend the congress.
  • APSR Young Investigator Award:
    All abstract presenters, at/under the age of 40 years at the time of abstract submission, are eligible to apply for the Young Investigator Award. The Award is made based on the merit of the submitted abstracts. Applicants are required to provide documentary proof of age.
  • Best Poster and Best Oral Presentation Prizes:
    These prizes are awarded based on the merit of the submitted abstract work and the quality of presentation at the congress.

Presentation Format

Abstract presenter will have a choice to present the work in English either orally or in poster format.

Selection Criteria

The selection of abstracts by the Central Congress Committee will be based on the following criteria:
(a) Scientific rationale and clinical relevance of the objectives
(b) Innovation and originality of the project
(c) Appropriateness of the methodology, data analysis and conclusion
(d) Clarity of presentation
