APSR International Faculty Awards

at 2018 Annual Meeting of the JRS
in Osaka 27-29 April 2018

APSR members living outside of Japan are invited to self-nominate to represent the APSR as a speaker at the prestigious 58th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) in Osaka, Japan, 27–29 April 2018.

These Awards are available for the following topics at the International Symposium during the JRS Meeting:

  1. Lung cancer
    Update on immunotherapy in lung cancer
  2. Asthma
    Update on molecular-targeted therapy in severe asthma
  3. COPD
    Update on combined inhalation therapy in COPD
  4. ILD
    Update on antifibrotic therapy in pulmonary fibrosis
  5. Infectious disease
    Recent advances on nontuberculous mycobacterial disease

Members residing outside of Japan are encouraged to apply.

Presentations must be delivered in an acceptable level of English.

Awards are merit-based for the presentation's scientific and clinical excellence. Preference will be given to those members able to demonstrate active participation in the APSR; for example, being an office bearer, committee member, volunteer/supporter, FAPSR, individual member, etc.)

Each speaker will be provided a travel grant of US$2,000/Northeast Asia or US$2,500/Southeast Asia, a small honorarium and accommodation for up to four nights.

If you would like to apply for this Award, please submit a brief (1 page) curriculum vitae to the APSR Secretariat at APSRinfo@theapsr.org, detailing your professional qualifications, expertise and past speaking experience in your topic, as well as details of your activities in the APSR.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Successful applicants will represent the APSR and will accept the responsibilities associated with this important role. After the presentation, a brief report, audio and/or video file is required from each awardee for inclusion on the APSR website and the APSR's social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook.

Timeline:

The application deadline is Monday 31 July 2017. Submissions will be considered by the APSR and applicants will be notified of the result as soon as possible.
